About

Portrait of Anna Spyrou in a textured blazer, standing in her studio beside a film camera and art supplies.

Born and raised in Athens, the cradle of theater, where stories take shape. Based in Los Angeles, where story meets technology.

Anna Spyrou began as a graphic designer in advertising and rose to Art Director. But she wanted her work to mean more: to tell stories that make an impact and change people's lives. So she turned to screenwriting and filmmaking, taking master's-level screenwriting classes at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki before moving to Los Angeles for the Film Directing program at UCLA. Since then she has written, directed and produced award-winning short films, from family drama to noir to experimental work. On set, she has also worked as a script supervisor, actor, cinematographer and in the art department.

Teaching runs alongside her own work. She has taught art and filmmaking across Los Angeles, from public school classrooms to student screenings at Sony Pictures Studios and student exhibitions at MOCA and the Hammer Museum. Today she brings AI-assisted workflows into creative production and teaching, helping filmmakers, educators and brands use new tools with taste and purpose.
